Service, Education/Employment and Redevelopment (SER) de New Mexico has been in existence since 1965, a joint effort between the GI Forum and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), two of the oldest and largest Hispanic volunteer organizations in the country. In 1966 SER de New Mexico became part of the National SER network of SER-Jobs for Progress, a private nonprofit community-based organization assisting government agencies in providing the general public with the opportunity to obtain work, education, housing, job training, and employment services.

Today, SER de New Mexico administers five Programs in six New Mexico counties including Bernalillo, Dona Ana, San Miguel, Quay, Socorro and Valencia. SER continues in its commitment and efforts to eliminate poverty throughout the State of New Mexico and remains dedicated to the promotion and development of sustainable community education, employment, housing, and job training services.
